How to set up Strand 7 in the Hawkins Lab.

Right mouse click on the Windows desktop, and select create shortcut, (or "new" then "shortcut")

The following window appears:

Type \\atlas\strand7\Bin\Strand7.exe in the location box. Then click next

Type a name for the shortcut - Strand 7, then click FINISH

A small Strand 7 icon will appear on the desktop

Right mouse click on the icon and select Properties

The following window appears. From this box, select the Shortcut tab, and in the Start in box, type z:\ and then press OK

Click the Strand 7 icon to begin.

Important things to remember:

• You do not need to repeat this process. Once the icon has been correctly created, it will always appear, regardless of which computer you use in the lab.
