How to use Web based E-Mail (webmail).
Note: Your user name and password are your email user name and password.
When you first go to the webmail address you will be presented with the screen below:

After entering your user name and password for the first time, you will see a page called Preferences open up. As shown below:

Notice in the Default Identity box, it has Name and Email as Unspecified. If you leave this as Unspecified, people will not know who you are when you send them an email through this system.
The first thing to do is fill in these fields. Note: This only needs to be performed the first time you log in, after that these settings will be remembered.
Click on the Identities link as shown by the arrow in the picture below, and then enter the details as indicated. Once finished make sure to tick the Set to default option before clicking the add button.

This will now show the Preferences page with your details in the Default Identity area as shown below. The rest of this page has information you need not worry about.

Click on the Inbox link immediately above the word Preferences as shown in the following image:

This then shows you, your actual inbox. If you have some email they will be listed here as:

Clicking on the subject of the email opens it up as follows:.

Once read, click on the Inbox link once more. or if you wish to reply, click the reply link.
If you wish to delete the message, place a tick in the box next to the subject line, then click the delete button as demonstrated below:

If you wish to write a new email message, click the Compose link on the top menu

This gives you a screen as shown below.
The important thing to remember here is the location of the Subject: and To: fields, as these are around the other way to that of Eudora.

Once written, click the send message button and you will be returned to the Inbox.
When finished with webmail, please remember to logout by clicking the Logout link on the main menu as shown below:

You will now be back at the main webmail login screen.
Important things to remember:
- When you get back to work and download your email, they will no longer appear in the webmail system
- When you send a new email or reply to an existing one, you will not have a saved copy, therefore it is recommended you Blind Copy (BCC) yourself if you wish to keep a copy of email sent by you through the webmail interface.
- This system is not designed to be a permanent Eudora or Outlook replacement, it should only be used when away from the Department.
- If you leave your computer on of an evening and leave your email program open to download email as they come in, you will not see those email's through webmail. Once downloaded to your local machine via Eudora etc, the message will no longer be on the server, so webmail will show no email's.
